me:  so a fable is a story written to teach us a lesson - does anyone have any examples of fables

2nd graders:  the gingerbread man; tortoise and the hare; little boy who cried wolf

me:  ok - so in the gingerbread man - the gingerbread man was naughty and ended up getting eaten by a fox

2nd grade boy: so what you're saying is - if i'm naughty i'm going to be eaten by a fox?!  i'd rather just get spanked!!!

we spent last weekend in

san antonio!!

we met up with nana/papa and spent the weekend hanging out - eating great food

friday night we went to...

la fogata is known for their margaritas

yum!!!!

saturday we started out at

el mercado...

lots of celebration and performances for

dia de la muerte...

naturally -being at the market - we ate here for lunch 

saturday night we headed to the river

where we watched

"coffins on parade"

and - of course -

more dinner!!

we had a fun time and it was super great to meet up with nana/papa!
