so far....

the summer started off with j.man going to zoo camp....

and led right into nana/papa camp

where the boys - along with their n/p - went to the

athens fish hatchery...

went to the movies...

and visited n/p's favorite yogurt shop!

all the boys went to

The Historic Aircraft Memorial Museum (HAMM)

g.money won the "best landing" award

j.man won the "best crashing" award

on the flight simulator!!!

n/p camp included a trip to houston to see our uncle j....

who introduced us to authentic dim sum...

being in houston also means a trip to the museum

this year the boys went to the

where they got to see....

The exhibit explores the futuristic technologies depicted in the Star Wars films, the real science behind them, and the research that may someday lead to real-life versions of the technologies seen in the film series. The exhibit also features props and costumes from all six Star Wars films. Plus, experience a simulated ride in a full-size replica of the Millennium Falcon cockpit!

the boys returned home from n/p camp just in time for g.money's

ELEVENTH BIRTHDAY!!!!

which led to a trip to....

hey look!! it's us!!!

 and of course birthday dinner at...

the week of g.money's bday he also attended...

for their summer youth program

lego battle bots!!!!!

each day the boys where given a task and then set up in pairs or groups to design a battle bot using legos that would best defeat the opposition and accomplish the goal....



some of the goals:

capture the flag; king of the hill; soccer game; lancing (i looked it up - it's a word)





which brings us to this week

g.money is at his first over night camp with our church...

the church is SO kind to post pics of the kids -

kicking off summer by floatin the river

last thursday was the

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!

so daddy and i packed up the camper and headed through the carpool line to grab the boys and head to...

-new bruansfels-

we've stayed at the rockin' r before and love camping on the river

of course we had to get in the water

the second our camp was set up!!!

we also had lots of friends and family meet up with us so we could

celebrate summer and daddy's 40th birthday!

saturday night we headed into gruen, texas...



and celebrated the "old man"

this is always a fun place to go with the kids

- lots of space to run and play...



then on sunday we all headed home but not until we stopped in at

driftwood, texas to savor the best bbq around



as always - the best way to kick off the summer

- in the camper with friends and family -
