so once we left canyon, texas - we hopped onto i-40 which is...
& headed out of texas into....
the drive was beautiful & the sunset made the sky look like it was on fire...
we drove into albequerque after 8pm & decided to get some dinner in "old town" albequerque...
after dinner we hooked up at the albequerque koa -then the next morning - sunday - we woke up to...
SNOW!!!
but after a little of this....
we went outside to the sun shining...
it was time to check out & we were off on our next adventure...
we saw an ancient volcano -we crossed the continental dived...
we saw numerous "indian" trading posts...
the weather dropped & a blizzard blew in...
but we were all snugg & cozy cruisin down route 66...
we arrived in gallup in time for a late lunch - daddy took us to the el rancho which was built in the 30's & visited by old hollywood...

after dinner we decided that we would go to the red rock state park in gallup to visit the museum & camp out the bad weather but because it was sunday the museum was closed & there was no one to check us in ...
so instead of staying the night in gallup like previously planned
we decided to head into arizona -
which brings us to the end of part two - but stay tuned for tomorrows installment...
