daddy's birthday at the river

daddy's birthday weekend usually lands on the last day of school - one of his favorite things to do is to load up the camper and head up to the school to pick up the boys in the carpool line - i'm sure all of you mamas out there who pick your kids up are rolling your eyes and groaning:-)
so we headed out to new braunfels and the guadalupe -

we stayed at camp huaco springs -
which i recommend for any one with an rv or who likes to tent camp!

the camp is run by the rockin' r company - which is the largest raft/river guides in the area

so this is our camp site.....

down the bank from our site was "the river"

check out the view from our site!!!!

i know! love me some campin' with an awesome view!

this was g.money's and j.man's first time to the river - they had a ball floating and swimming

i had fun too :-)

we took a walk/hike up the river along the 30 acre stretch belonging to the camp site -
it was beautiful!

for the b-day boys birthday dinner we headed into gruene, texas...

were we "hooked-up" with nonnie and her bff nance...

we took the boys into gruene hall where i did my very best to explain the significance to texas and to texas music (mr.strait, jerry jeff, pat green, willy) - i'm hoping it was what one could call a "seed" because they didn't seem all that impressed - but i'm sure if i keep at it they'll be as "die-hard" about texas as their mother!!:-)

for the b-day dinner we went to the gristmill - yummy!!!

here's the b-day boy - isn't he cute!!

happy birthday my daddy!!
i love you so much - thanks for taking us on an awesome trip!
